Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

SynqBeam ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SynqBeam construction management platform, including our website and related services (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use the Service.

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Account information: name, email address, phone number, company name, job title, and password
  • Project data: project details, tasks, daily logs, photos, materials, budgets, expenses, and team member information you enter into the Service
  • Payment information: billing address and payment details processed through our third-party payment provider (we do not store full payment card numbers)
  • Communications: messages you send to us through support requests, contact forms, or email

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and browser information: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, device identifiers, and screen resolution
  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, session duration, clicks, and interaction patterns
  • Log data: access times, error logs, and referring URLs
  • Location data: approximate location derived from your IP address

Information from third parties:

  • Authentication providers: if you sign in via a third-party service, we receive profile information as authorized by that provider
  • Other users: team administrators or project managers may add your information (such as name, email, and role) to the platform on your behalf

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the Service
  • Create and manage your account
  • Process transactions and send related information, including billing confirmations
  • Respond to your inquiries, comments, or support requests
  • Send administrative communications such as service updates, security alerts, and policy changes
  • Analyze usage patterns to improve and develop new features
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
  • Send marketing communications where you have opted in (you can opt out at any time)

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

  • Service providers: third-party vendors who assist us in operating the Service, including hosting (Supabase, Vercel), payment processing (Lemon Squeezy), email delivery (Brevo), and analytics
  • Other platform users: project data and team information is visible to other members of your organization and projects within the Service, based on their role and permissions
  • Legal requirements: when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, asset sale, or similar transaction, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction
  • With your consent: we may share information for other purposes with your explicit consent

5. Data Ownership and Controller Roles

You retain ownership of all data you input into the Service ("Customer Data"). SynqBeam acts as a data processor on behalf of your organization with respect to Customer Data. Your organization's administrator is the data controller responsible for determining how Customer Data is collected and used within the platform.

We may use anonymized and aggregated data (which cannot identify you) for analytics, benchmarking, and service improvement purposes.

6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as web beacons and local storage) to operate the Service, remember your preferences, analyze usage, and improve your experience.

Types of cookies we use:

  • Essential cookies: required for the Service to function (authentication, security, session management)
  • Analytics cookies: help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it
  • Preference cookies: remember your settings and display preferences

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may limit your ability to use some features of the Service.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. After account deletion or termination, we may retain certain data for a reasonable period to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and for legitimate business purposes.

Project data and associated files will be retained for 60 days following account termination, after which they will be permanently deleted.

8. Data Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS/HTTPS), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

9. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Correction: request that we correct inaccurate or incomplete information
  • Deletion: request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
  • Portability: request a machine-readable copy of your data
  • Objection: object to certain processing of your data
  • Restriction: request that we restrict the processing of your data
  • Marketing opt-out: unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email

10. International Data Transfers

The Service is hosted and operated in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. We take appropriate measures to ensure your data is treated securely and in accordance with this policy.

11. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
